VG Safety Gears consist of a pair of end assemblies, which can be bolted directly to the buffer channels or car frame.
Each end assembly has two spring loaded linkage mechanisms, which carry and engage the carbide friction gibs to the lift guide rails.
They are suitable for use with all types of guide rail and both roller and sliding guide shoes.
The VG4, VG2a and VG6 safety gears are designed to be used for conventional downward braking and can be inverted to provide upward braking.
Due to their common footprint they can also be duplexed to double the braking capacity.
The VG5 is a bi-directional safety gear with 2 independent braking mechanisms within a common housing.
The Safety Gears are sold in applications with all the relevant kits but excluding the M12 connecting rods, as these are site specific.
A range of the most common applications are shown on the attached .pdf files, along with a table showing the range of each Safety Gear.
