AiO Speed Watcher
Faster reaction times, safer lifts
About the AiO Speed Watcher
The VG AiO Speed Watcher represents a significant step forward in lift safety technology, fundamentally changing how speed control and uncontrolled movement are managed. This innovative system constantly monitors your lift’s electromechanical VG safety gear, providing fail-safe protection when issues arise.
The AiO addresses the critical delay between overspeed detection and the brakes engaging. It reduces stopping distances and ensures the safety gears operate closer to their designed activation parameters.
Developed through our 25+ years of lift safety expertise, this BSI-certified solution eliminates mechanical reaction delays while offering comprehensive protection against unintended car movement and overspeed conditions.
Features & Benefits
The AiO Speed Watcher delivers exceptional performance. Each feature has been engineered to address specific challenges in your lift systems, resulting in measurable improvements to your safety and operational efficiency:
Complete safety system
The AiO replaces the traditional combination of overspeed governor (OSG), tension weight and rope with a single integrated unit, reducing your maintenance requirements and improving reliability.
Reduced reaction time
The AiO’s electronic monitoring significantly reduces the delay between the OSG activating and the safety gear engaging, decreasing the distance your lift will fall.
Simple installation
When used with VG Safety Gears, the system eliminates the need for connection kits and bars, streamlining installation and reducing potential failure points in the safety chain.
Universal rail compatibility
The system works effectively on all guide rails from 9mm to 19mm, regardless of whether they’re oiled or dry, providing consistent performance across different installation environments.
Remote monitoring
Each unit can be accessed through a secure router connection, allowing your maintenance teams to monitor system status, check operation parameters and diagnose issues without entering the shaft.
Comprehensive protection
The system provides both unintended car movement and overspeed protection in a single package, ensuring complete compliance with EN81-20/50 requirements.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. The AiO functions as a fully certified overspeed governor. It’s an automated device that brings the lift or counterweight to rest by operating the safety gear when exceeding predetermined speed limits. When used with VG Safety Gears, it fully complies with EN81-20/50 requirements while eliminating the mechanical components and reaction delays of most conventional lift safety systems.
You’ll need a secure router to access the dashboard for remote monitoring. Each speed watcher is accessed through a unique IP address and is available only when accessing the secure motor room network.
Currently, the VG8 is the only VG Safety Gear fitted with the electromechanical trip and reset system required, but we’re developing integration for the complete range of VG Safety Gears.
The dashboard displays comprehensive lift operation data, including door and motor connections, power supply monitoring, real-time running speed, and lift tripping speed. Following a deployment, you’ll see the reason for braking, the braking profile in graph form, the maximum speed reached, and any required reset functions.
No. The AiO has been fully certified by BSI for Safety Circuit, ACOP, UCM and the means to trip the safety gear.
Yes, although we recommend removing redundant equipment to prevent confusion for your maintenance staff.
A 12v DC battery backup power supply is recommended to ensure continued protection during power outages.
No. Since the unit is fixed directly to the lift car, the travel distance isn’t a consideration when ordering.
